Yokosuka City is a city located on the Miura peninsula in the southeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture.

It is designated as a core city. It occupies the majority of the Miura Peninsula located in the southeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture, and the east side of the city area is Tokyo Bay (Uraga water) and west Side on Sagami Bay. Sashima, the only natural island in Tokyo Bay, is also included in the administrative zone. The highest point of elevation in the administrative area is the 242m of the large Kusuyama and the highest peak of the Miura Peninsula. There are not so high mountains, but the central part is mountainous area and steep hills (Miura Hills), and the plain is small.
