As a boundary of the line of the JR Ome line which runs through the east and west of the city, the site of an apartment complex, industrial area, golf course, and the national Showa Kinen Park occupies a large area in the north. In contrast, the proportion of residential areas in the south is largely large. However, there are comparatively a lot of complexes and schools in the area near the river bank in the southern part of Tama River.
