Oyama Town is located in the northeast of Shizuoka Prefecture, and is the town of Sunto County with Mt. Fuji. Located in the northeast of Shizuoka Prefecture, in contact with Kanagawa Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture. 65% of the area is occupied by the forest. Because of the abundant spring water at the base of Mt. Fuji, rice paddies are flourishing despite the high altitude.
It has a slender shape in the east and west, and the East Ayuzawa River (Sako River) which is sandwiched between Mt. Kintoki (Ashigara Mountain) and the Tanzawa Mountains flows, and forms the central urban area in a small plain of the basin.
