Ashiya-Machi is a town located at the estuary of Onga-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is a municipality that constitutes the Kitakyushu metropolitan area.
Although public transport was poor compared to neighboring cities and towns, it was designated as a sparsely populated area in 2002, but in recent years the bed town of Kitakyushu City is advancing on the east coast of the Onga River.
