Satosyo town is located in the southwestern part of Okayama Prefecture and belongs to Asaguchi County. It is also the only municipality in Asaguchi County since 2006 (Heisei 18).
It is a bed town of those cities near Kurashiki city and Fukuyama city in Hiroshima Prefecture. From October 10, 2006, "Kurashiki number", a local number, was introduced along with Kurashiki City and Asaguchi City.
