The city of Anan is located in the southeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. It is a local government of the Shikoku top East End. The east is the north end of Muroto Anan coast quasi-national park facing Kii Waterworks and the Pacific Ocean.
There is the Kawaguchi estuary of the longest river in the prefecture, and the Kuwano River flows through the city. The east side of the city is located in the Shikoku Mountains, such as Tairyu Terayama and the west side.
