Kitashiobara Village is a village in the southwestern part of the Tohoku region, western Fukushima Prefecture (Aizu district).
Yama belong to county. Located in the northwestern part of Fukushima prefecture, the forest occupies 86% of the total area of the village. It is a local of "back Bandai" with a large size of 300 lakes, including Bandai Mountain, Hibara Lake and Goshikinuma, which is one of Japan 100 mountains, and the industry which is based on the natural rich tourism resource is developed in addition to agriculture. The village name was taken by one character from Northern Yamamura, Dai Shiomura, and Hibara village before the merger.
Specialties include smelt, I'd, yamame, Highland vegetables, cucumbers, buckwheat, asparagus, mushrooms, junsai, bridal offerings, Mt. Aizu Salt, herbs, woodwork.
