It is made up of islands of the Naoshima Islands centered on Naoshima floating on the Seto Inland Sea. It is located about 13 km north of Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture in the Seto Inland Sea and about 3km south of Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, and consists of 27 islands, large and small, centered on Naoshima.
