Miyazaki City is the capital of the prefecture in a city almost in the center of Miyazaki Prefecture. In Kyushu and Okinawa, the seventh largest population is the second largest in Nagasaki city.
It has been designated as a core city since 1998 (Heisei 10). Located at the southern end of the Miyazaki Plain, the main Yodogawa flows through the center and pours into the sun nada.
