Kai City is a city of about 70,000 people in the northwestern part of Yamanashi Prefecture. It is the second largest population in the prefecture, next to Kofu city.
The city emblem forms the initials "K" in three leaves expressing the old Sanmachi, and the design of the heart is modeled. Located slightly north of the Midwest in the Kofu Basin. It is composed of the Old Street town (Nakakoma County), Shikishima Town (Nakakoma County), Futaba Town (Kitakoma County), and elongated shape extending to the north and south. The northern part of the former Shikishima town is a mountainous and hilly area with abundant forest resources. The central part of the city is formed by the plains, which are deployed on the left bank of Otonashigawa.
