Ogata Village is a village located in Minami-gun, Akita Prefecture, northwest of the northeastern region of Japan. The whole area of the village is the land which reclaimed and made the Hachirogata which was the lake which boasts the second region in Japan, and is the maximum Japan as the reclamation ground.
The new municipality, which was inaugurated on October 1, 1964, as the local government, is the last Japan as a newly established government without the merger and division of existing municipalities.
