Matsuura City is a city located in northern part of Nagasaki Prefecture and North Matsuura Peninsula. Outlying areas are also included in the city limits.
It is known as the birthplace of Matsuura party. Located in the northeast of the Kitanmatsuura Peninsula in Nagasaki Prefecture, the north faces Imari Bay from the Genkai Nada, and the east borders Imari City, Saga Prefecture. The inland area on the south side of the city is a hilly land of lava terraces, with few plains.
The river flows through the Sakase River, the Ryugawa River, the Shisa River, the Fugawa River, and Imafuku River, and there is a squeal sand which is represented by "GI-hama" at the mouth.
