Mikawa Town is a town of about 8000 people in the northwestern part of Yamagata Prefecture. It is located in the Shonai district of Yamagata Prefecture, and is located in Shonai General branch.
It is the only municipality in Yamagata Prefecture that has no mountain. There is no mountain because the whole town is in the Shonai plain. I want Mt. Chokai to the north. The town concentrates the population and public facilities in the vicinity of National Highway 7 which runs along the flow of the Red River. The boundary between the town of Fujishima is set along the Fujishima River at the east end of the town, and the boundary between Sakata City in the west and Tsuruoka city is along the flow of the Daisen River.
