Echizen town is a town with Echizen Cape protruding from the West end of the Fukui Prefecture Ridge and the Sea of Japan.
It is known as a production area of Echizen pottery, and many pottery makers are located in the town.
In the east of the Echizen district followed by the Cliff coast, there is an ODA district that separates the Niu Mountains area around 500m in altitude and is a separate basin, going downstream of the river from here, after the Miyazaki district of the valley, around the office in the eastern end of the Asahi District is a flat ground with the Sabae basin.
