Ikeda town is located in the central part of Fukui Prefecture.

It is a town which inherited the culture of the Noh Art of traditional performing arts and accompanying it, and 90% of the total area is mountainous. The main residential area is a valley with a slight spread around 150 to 250 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains. The whole town is designated as a special heavy snowfall area, and there is very much precipitation in the winter.
