Shingu City is a city located at the mouth of the Kumano River in the southern part of Wakayama Prefecture.
Old Higashimuro County. Located on the west side of the estuary of the Kumano River, it was Sanzan as the temple town of Kumano speed Tama Taisha, one of Kumano's. Moreover, it was a collecting land of the timber which used the boat luck of the Kumano River as an entrance to the Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine. It is still one of the central cities of the Kumano District (formerly Muro Muro-gun).
