Gotsu City is a city facing the Sea of Japan in the western part of Shimane Prefecture.
It is the most populous city in the Sanin region and the most small area in the prefecture. Located in the Iwami region in the western part of Shimane Prefecture.
It is a few rivers flowing through the Chinese mountains from the Sanyo side, and the river of Jiang which is the largest river in the Chugoku region pours into the sea of Japan in this city.
