Oyama City is a city in the southern part of Tochigi prefecture. Former Shimotsuga County (except for boundary changes). The city limits are included in the metropolitan area, with a population of approximately 167,000 people. It became a city with the second largest population in Tochigi Prefecture in December 2005, after Utsunomiya City.
