Uozu City is a city facing the Sea of Japan (Toyama Bay), which is located about 22 kilometers northeast of the city area of Toyama. It is a part of the old Yue China, and flourished as a post town in the Hokuriku Highway, a port city in Toyama Bay, a castle town of Tsuko, and a temple of temples, a commercial and industrial city. Currently, it is the center city of the Uozu metropolitan area which is the main metropolitan area of Shinkawa, and the seventh population scale in Toyama Prefecture.
