Aoba-ku is one of the 18 boroughs that make up the city of Yokohama. The east side of the ward is the Tomei Expressway (Daiichi Tokaido Expressway) and National Route 246 run, and the Tokyu Denentoshi line runs along with it. Tokyu Children's country line runs on the west side of the ward. The northwest side of the ward is in contact with the Kawasaki City Miyamae Ward in the northeastern side of the ward, in Machida City, Tokyo and Aso Ward, Kawasaki City.
