Midori-ku is one of the 18 boroughs that make up the city of Yokohama. The area is elongated to the east and west along the Tsurumi River basin. The Tsurumi River and the JR Yokohama Line traverse the center to the east and west. Although the Tsurumi River basin is flat, the south side is a hilly area and many residential areas are adjacent to Asahi Ward. The north side is an industrial park along the Kawasaki Machida line of the city planning Road which is a green industrial road.
