Kami Town is a town located in the northwestern part of Miyagi prefecture.
It belongs to Osaki district. Initially, all four kami counties, including Shikama Town, were merged to become "Kami City", but Shikama town was withdrawn from the Merger Council and no longer met the city's requirements.
In the ordinance of Miyagi Prefecture at that time, it became "town" continued by the ordinance revision though there was a possibility of becoming "village" by the merger in three towns, too.
