It is read "grass" in the hometown.
The origin of the place name is "Kusami" which represents the Kusatsu hot spring with a strong sulfur smell, and "Kusatsu" was written in "Kusatsu" in the latter half of the Muromachi period, "Namatsu" and "nine Aizu" in the Edo period.
