Midori City is a city located in the eastern part of Gunma Prefecture.
This city was born in Gunma Prefecture in Buri 48 years since the city of Annaka in 1958. It is the only city that was born as a new city in Gunma Prefecture in the large merger of Heisei.
The city Hall is located at the old Kasagake Town office. With this merger, Nitta County and Yamada County disappeared. It is the first hiragana city in Gunma Prefecture.
