Hikawa-Machi is a town located in central Kumamoto Prefecture. belonging to Yatsushiro County.
It is one of the few towns in Kumamoto Prefecture that reads "Chou" instead of "Machi" with Asagiri Town and Yamomachi town. Located in the central part of Kumamoto Prefecture, the northwest is facing the Yatsushiro sea. On October 1, 2005, the Ryuhoku town and Miyahara Town of Yatsushiro County merged and started. Hikawa flows from southeast to northwest along the border with Yatsushiro city. The whole area is part of the Yatsushiro Plain.
