Kikuchi City is a city of approximately 48000 people located in the northern part of Kumamoto Prefecture. Located about 25 km northeast of Kumamoto City, upstream of the Kikuchi River flowing in the northern part of Kumamoto Prefecture. From the central part of the city to the southwest, the northeast end of the Kumamoto plain is fertile and agricultural.
