The city of Komae is located in the eastern part of the Tama region of Tokyo. It is one of the five neighboring cities bordering the ward and the boundary. The east is located in the Setagaya ward, the north and west in Chofu City, and the south in Kawasaki city in Kanagawa Prefecture (Tama Ward), surrounded by a large municipality of these three areas.
